| Maker Comments | The humid marshes Southwest of Lake Maracaibo in Western Venezuela provide the perfect climate for a delicate Criollo cacao known as Sur del Lago. This famous cacao is mentioned in recipe books as far back as the early 19th century. It was then known simply as "Maracaibo" as this was the port from which it was shipped. Earthy, woody, with underlying nutty notes. |
