 Hey Down The Middle

Definition:

A weaving and looping movement for all eight dancers. The starting set-up is from a squared set with girls in the middle facing out toward partners (call "Girls Fold" to set it up). All Pass Thru (right shoulders), men now in the center move across the set as in a left-hand star without hands. Girls loop around to the right to come back in in time to pass right shoulders with the opposite man coming out of the middle. Girls go through the middle now as in a left hand star without hands while the men make a little right face loop to head back in again. Those loops for both men and girls should take eight counts and those going through the middle should take a full eight steps so the movement times out with the phrasing of the music. Continue this movement until the girls are back at home inside facing out toward original partner.
