 Zoom

Definition:

From any formation in which one dancer faces 180 degrees away from another (the other dancer may be facing the same way or the opposite way)--i.e., from double pass thru or completed double pass thru formation and from Trade By formation (these are the "ordinary" cases). Zoom can also be done from a four person box, couples back to back, column formation, parallel waves or parallel two faced lines: Lead dancers or those designated will roll back to end in trailing dancer's position (facing the same direction as at the start) while the trailing dancers step ahead or backward into the Zoomer's original spot without changing facing direction. The next call is directed at the "steppers" (e.g., Zoom And Partner Trade--it is the steppers who are expected to do the Partner Trade).
