 Right/Left-Hand Star

Definition:

Those designated (two, three or four people) will extend arms into the center and form a hand-hold star (ordinarily formed by each person grasping the wrist of the dancer ahead, but some areas use a "hand pile up" star). The star is then turned the designated amount with all participants walking forward to take the next call. An eight hand "star" is formed by dancers placing the designated hand on the upper arm of the dancer ahead.
