 Chinese Grand Square
 Jay King  -  page 58

Definition:

Heads do a California Twirl at the start and the sides turn backs to partner. From here everything is the exact reverse of a Grand Square. Where people would back up on the Grand Square, they walk forward and vice versa. Where people turned in on the Grand Square, they turn to face out in this one.

 Cut Across
 Jay King  -  page 145

Definition:

From a completed double pass thru formation: Leads do a Partner Tag, then Partner Trade with the one from the other side who also Tagged, staying well apart. Meanwhile trailing couples Partner Trade, Partner Tag and then do a Centers In. Finishes in lines with centers facing out and ends facing in.

 Cut Across  -  C4
 vic ceder

Definition:

From any 2x4.

Determine whether you are a Leader or Trailer; then, working in your Concentric Box:

  • Those identified as Leaders: do your part Partner Tag then Partner Trade, as
  • Those identified as Trailers: do your part Partner Trade then Partner Tag.

Ends in a 2x4.

Comments and Examples:

This is a hard, and often disorienting call.

Originally, the call was envisioned as starting from a Completed Double Pass Thru formation, but the definition can be done from any 2x4.

Cut Across

 Tag The Gear Wheel
 Jay King  -  page 204

Definition:

From lines, waves or two faced lines: All Half Tag the Line, then make two right hand stars (one on each side of the set) and turn them halfway (like a Split Circulate double). The center four make a left hand star and turn it halfway (as in Centers Circulate two positions). All now do a Complete Your Tag to finish in completed double pass thru formation. All take the next call (In, Out, etc.).
