- From a line of three with man in the middle (See Tie The Knot): Without letting go of hands, the girl on the right crosses to the left outside with inside hands held high, the girl on the left crosses to the right inside, ducking under the right arm of the man. Man makes a half right-face turn until the line of three has reversed direction. Now the procedure is reversed. Holding left arm high the man leads the left hand lady across to the right outside and leads the right hand lady across to the left inside and under the raised arm. Man makes a half left-face turn until the line of three is facing original direction again.

- From a star promenade: Spread the star to arm's length with ladies retaining left hand holds and walking in front and under men's left arms in a half left face turn to face the center of the set in back of the men. All circle left with ladies in a right-hand star above the men's left-hand star. To break out of this, all drop hands and circle eight.

- From a two-faced line (formerly called "Travel On" position) with men in the center: Men spread out to hand hold positions and make an arch. Ladies still hold men's hands, walk forward, duck under the arch, turn a half turn to the left and join right hands with the other lady. All circle as called, usually with a "Buzz" step.

- From one couple facing another: One couple ducks thru the arch made by the other couple, then without turning, form an arch and back up over that couple as that couple steps together, ducks down and backs up.

- From a circle: "First old gent with the left hand up, you make a little hoop; back up through your corner and you pull 'em all through with the Oxbow Loop. Circle to the left like you didn't give a hoot, second old gent get ready in the chute, it's the left hand up, etc." Without letting go any hands, Number One man steps over in front of the corner, turns his back to her, looping left hand over his own head and back up thru the arch of the corner lady and her partner to stand back to back with corner's partner. Pull the line thru with the right hand, keeping the line on the number one man's right side. Corner lady wrings the dishrag (turns under). Now circle again. Number two man then gets ready to go.

- From a Grand Right and Left formation: after an Allemande Left, meet partner with a right forearm turn once around. Men then give the girl's right hand a slight push so she spins once around by herself as the men form a left hand star and start to walk forward. The girl finishes her spin, drifting along slightly in the direction of the turning star and hooks her left arm through the man's right in "escort" position as the star turns. When the call is given ("Hub flies out and the rim flies in, it's a right and left, hook in again"), the men break the star at the center and with the ladies still hooked to their right arms, they back around while the ladies walk forward around to turn about once and a half around until all are facing in Grand Right and Left direction. Pull by with a right, then pull by the next with a left to do another Wagon Wheel Spin as described above with the next girl and end up in an escort type star promenade. Finally do another "Hub Out, Rim In," go forward two with a right and left and then meet partner to promenade home.
