Definition:
 

From a Thar or Wrong Way Thar.

Drop joined hands with adjacent dancer (but keep the center star intact);
Walk forward in a circle at least until you meet the same person again.

Comments and Examples:

Also known as Throw The Clutch In Low.

Throw In The Clutch is typically used with directional calling.
The caller indicates how far to go and whom to meet for the next call.
E.g., second time you meet your partner (or corner)...

 Throw In The Clutch 

Definition:
 

From a thar or wrong way thar formation: Those in the star retain the star but let go hand holds with the outside people. Star walks forward and those on the rim also walk forward going in the opposite direction from those in the star. All take the next call ("Throw in the Clutch and put her in low, twice around the ring you go, pass her once and let her go, second time you meet," etc.)
