 Act The Diamond (1/2, 3/4) 

Definition:
 

From parallel diamonds: Points Circulate around the outside 1 1/2 as wave dancers Trade the Wave; center star turns 1/4 (or as designated) as others Trade; perimeter four move up (Hourglass Circulate) as other four Cast Off 3/4 to form parallel waves.

 Break The Wave 

Definition:
 

Version #1 (author unknown). From a wave: All drop hands and turn back in place to face in the opposite direction. Finishes in a wave with dancers facing opposite to original direction. Right hand waves become left hand, etc.

COMMENT: Use "U-Turn Back and make a new Wave." See also Reverse the Wave, Version #1.

Version #2 (Gene Knutson - 1968). From a wave: Dancers do a Half Square Thru without hands. Finishes with pairs back to back.

COMMENT: Use either "Half Square thru" or "Explode the Wave."

Version #3 (Mike Driscoll - 1970). From a wave: Adjacent dancers on each end ("neighbors") turn to face each other. If started with two parallel waves, finishes in eight chain thru formation.

COMMENT: Counterpart of "Break the Line, Version #2." This call might possibly be useful if the other two versions of Break the Wave were made obsolete.

From facing couples: Circle designated fraction; belles (right side dancers) U-Turn Back towards partner to form R-H miniwaves.

From facing lines: Ends touch 1/4 and Spread, then do a (big) Box Circulate around the outside; the centers Load the Boat but instead of the last Pass Thru at the end, they Pass the Ocean. End in twin diamonds.
