 Flutter By 

Definition:
 

Version #1

From two facing pairs (called as "A Quarter by a Half"; "Half by Half"; "Three Quarters by a Half", etc.): From two facing pairs: Starts like a Flutter Wheel (i.e., Belles right arm turn to take right hand of opposite in their left). Opposite dancer then leads the arm turners the first fraction where dancers Merge into a regular wave to arm turn the second fraction. Finishes in box or wave formation depending on the combination of fractions used. (Glenn King 1971)

COMMENT: Variation of the Circle By idea (See Challenge Dancing's Basic Calls). Acceptable move except for the existence of a second version with the same name.

Version #2

From Trade By formation: Those facing out Trade while the centers do a Flutter Wheel and then Pass Thru. Finishes in eight chain thru formation. (Nick Moran 1972)

Definition:
 

From half circulated columns, Hourglass formation or twin diamonds: Centers and lonesome ends move up to form two-faced lines (last third of a Coordinate.)
