 (Reverse) Walk To A Diamond/Interlocked Diamond/Hourglass/Galaxy 

Definition:
 

Walk To A Diamond - From facing couples: Beau Walks, Belles Dodges, all 1/2 Box/Split Circulate.

Reverse Walk To A Diamond - Belle Walks, Beaus Dodges, all 1/2 Box/Split Circulate.

Walk To A Interlocked Diamond, Hourglass - From facing lines: Beaus Walk, Belles Dodge, Center trailers Cross Extend [to far center (interlock)] or Quarter Out and slide together to become very centers of an hourglass as other six 1/2 Split Circulate.

Walk To A Galaxy - From an 8 chain thru: Beaus Walk, Belles Dodge, those two facing the very center Veer Out as other six 1/2 Split Circulate to form a galaxy.

For Reverse versions of the above interchange the roles of the beaus and belles in the initial Walk & Dodge

Since the initial action in these calls is the Challenge call "With the Flow" all uses should be preceded by a call with appropriate flow. Thus, Flutterwheel, Walk to a Diamond, but Reverse Flutterwheel, Reverse Walk to a Diamond.

 Cast To A Line 

Definition:
 

From parallel waves: All Step Thru. Those facing in, arm turn with adjacent arms 3/4. Those facing out Quarter Right and Circulate. Finishes in parallel two faced lines (from right hand waves) or parallel right hand waves (from left hand waves). COMMENT: Use the earlier call (1969) Trade Your Neighbor Right.

 Change The Columns 

Definition:
 

Version #1 (Bill Harrison - 1974). Same as Remake from column formation.

Version #2 (Nonie Moglia - 1976). From columns: The lead two in each column walk in single file as in Transfer the Column but don't face in. The trailers move up shoulder to shoulder with each other (into box formation) and then Trade. Finish in parallel two faced lines.

 Circulate To A Column 

Definition:
 

From parallel waves: All circulate one half. Those in the center wave Lock It and then do a Single Hinge. The others Single Hinge. Finishes in column formation.

 Exchange To A Wave/Line 

Definition:
 

From diamonds: Very centers lead others in their diamond in single file Promenade around the other diamond walking into a momentary column facing in the opposite direction from the very center's initial facing direction; at this point for a line ending the lead two dancers (#1 & #2) Face In and trailing two (#3 & #4) Face Out; for a wave ending the lead two Face In and the end Runs around the center while the #3 dancer Faces In and the #4 dancer Faces Out. (See Spin Chain & Exchange the Gears below).

Definition:
 

From parallel lines/waves in which ends and adjacents can be identified (e.g. men, girls, outfacers, outeractives, heads, etc): Designated centers Cross Run, then designated ends Run.

 Peel And Slide 

Definition:
 

From a box formation or Z formation: Lead person does a Peel Off and trailers do a nose to nose sashay. Finishes in two faced lines.

 Quarter Thru 

Definition:
 

Version #1

Same as Slide Thru. (author unknown)

Version #2

From a wave: Ends do a "Lines Divide" while the centers Hing and step forward to stand to right of end dancer (if from a right hand wave) or to left of end dancer (if from a left hand wave). Finishes with couples back to back. (Gordie Loomer 1968)

Version #3

From two right hand parallel waves: Ends and adjacent dancers (neighbors) face each other and Pass Thru. Centers now Pass Thru (right shoulders) and move up to stand to the left of the outside dancers. Finishes in lines facing out. (Dick Bayer 1969)

Cross Quarter Thru

From facing pairs: Couples do a Crosstrail Thru and without stopping do a Quarter In and Pass Thru. Finishes with couples back to back. (Bill Harrison 1974)

COMMENT: Still another meaning for Quarter Thru. This one can be called directionally.

GENERAL COMMENT: Still another movement called Quarter Thru (and Three Quarter Thru) by Holman Hudspeth has been adopted as one of the Basic Calls of Challenge Dancing. See Hinge Thru below.

 Spin-O-Vate 

Definition:
 

From parallel waves or eight chain thru formation: All arm turn half, new centers arm turn 3/4 and ends Circulate half to form the three Motivate-type stars (two two hand and one four hand). The four hand star turns 3/4 as the others turn half. Then the center four arm turn 3/4 as the outsides move up to wave ends. Finishes in parallel waves. Note: Same as Motivate except the four hand star in the center turns 3/4 instead of one half.

 Wheel In/Out 

Definition:
 

From box circulate: Dancer facing in Wheel Thru; dancer facing out Quarter In/Out (to center of original box) as directed by call.

From facing couples: Beaus Wheel Thru; Belles take the In/Out command.
