 Cast Off From A Promenade 

Definition:
 

From a promenade: Designated couples wheel around to the right to move in behind the couple in back. Cast Off A Half finishes with the couple casting off to face the couple behind, where girls hook arms in a two-faced line.

 Centers Pair 

Definition:
 

From completed double pass thru formation, promenade, or eight chain thru formation: The inside couples or couples designated will move up individually to stand (or keep walking as in the case of Promenade) to the left of the dancer ahead.

From a wave, line of four or two-faced line: Ends Cross Over meant Ends Trade.

 Pair Off 

Definition:
 

Those designated will take opposite for a new partner and as a pair turn backs to the center of the set.

 Pair Off 

Definition:
 

From a Squared Set or other applicable formation.

Designated Dancers step forward as necessary (to meet) then turn 1/4 in place away from the center of the set.

Comments and Examples:

From a Squared Set, on the call Heads Pair Off, Heads step into the middle then turn 1/4 to face their corners.

Definition:
 

From a One-Faced Line.

Couple on the right slides in front,
as couple of the left slides behind.

Ends in Tandem Couples.

Alternative definition: As Couples 1/2 of a Half Sashay.

 Shuffle The Deck 

Definition:
 

From a lines of four: Two people on the right side of the line take one step forward and slide to the left. The two people on the left end of the line slide to the right to stand directly behind the other couple. Finishes with one couple behind another. NOTE: In Mainstream Dancing, Shuffle the Deck was pushed aside by Wheel and Deal.

Definition:
 

From a line with centers facing one way and ends facing the other: Each end and center arm turn half, new centers California Twirl.
