Definition:
 

From eight chain thru formation: All Turn Thru. Centers right arm turn 3/4 as the outsides separate and arm turn 3/4 with the ones they meet. Finishes in column formation. COMMENT: a "slip the clutch" type action for the centers.

 Double Chain Thru 

Definition:
 

From column formation or parallel waves: arm turn adjacent dancer 3/4. New centers (triple) trade then arm turn the ones they meet 3/4. Columns finish as columns. Parallel waves finish as parallel waves.

Definition:
 

From parallel waves: On a Form In, those facing in step thru while those facing out Fold behind them. On a Form Out, those facing out do the step thru and those facing in Fold behind them. Form In finishes in double pass thru formation; Form Out finishes in completed double pass thru formation.

 Grand Scramble 

Definition:
 

Heads Swing Star Thru as the others divide and Star Thru. New heads Swing Star Thru as the other divide and Star Thru. All now California Twirl. (Heads are in opposite position; square is out of sequence; all have opposites). Sides now do a Swing Star Thru, others divide and Star Thru. New Sides Swing Star Thru as the others divide and Star Thru. All California Twirl. (All are in opposite positions with original partners).

 Half And Half 

Definition:
 

From a two person mini wave: Arm turn adjacent dancer half, then each do a U-turn back (in turning direction), clapping hands as you turn and then arm turn the same adjacent dancer using opposite arms. Finish in a two person mini wave. NOTE: A Catch All Eight variation, but with a definite ending formation.

 Hinge To A Z 

Definition:
 

From parallel two faced lines: Couples Hinge, then the center couples Hinge. Meanwhile the outside couple completes a Wheel Across. Finishes with couples facing in "Z-formation" (a center two faced line with an outside couple facing the couple at each end).

From column formation: All single file Circulate twice. Center four face in and do a Right and Left Thru. Outsides Trade and the ones facing out Run. Finishes in a squared set. NOTE: Similar to Intermingle by the same author except it uses a Right and Left Thru in place of the Flutter Wheel and Sweep a Quarter.

From box formation: Facing dancers step up shoulder to shoulder and Single Hinge. Leads Quarter Right and become ends of a two faced line.

 Sweep And Turn 

Definition:
 

From facing lines: Centers Turn Thru and Partner Trade. Ends Star Thru and Sweep a Quarter behind the centers. Finishes in double pass thru formation.

COMMENT: After the Star Thru, the girl and boy would sweep 1/4 in opposite directions. Breaks body flow of one of the two.

Definition:
 

From a Tidal Wave: The end pairs do a Turn Thru and each move up to stand right shoulder to right shoulder with the one they meet (from the other end). Meanwhile, center four Spin the Top. Finishes in a Tidal Wave.
