It is generally not appropriate to call Follow Your Neighbor
from a T-Bone setup below the C1-level.

Hinweise:

  • Do not add a Spread unless the caller explicitly says so.
  • The Leaders' part is sometimes also described as a Fold & Roll.
  • Follow Your Neighbor is similar to a Scoot Back except that
    1. Everyone does a 3/4 turn instead of a 1/2 turn
    2. Those doing the Arm Turn hold on to each other
  • Those doing the Arm Turn 3/4 usually start with a forearm grip and blend into a normal handhold upon completion of the call.

Questionable usage of Follow Your Neighbor:

I've seen Follow Your Neighbor used by callers in the following questionable situation:

This example is illustrated here so that callers can hopefully avoid calling it.

Aus einer Single 1/4 Tag:

From this position, all dancers do the Trailers' part of Follow Your Neighbor (i.e., Extend & Arm Turn 3/4).

I believe this to be a reasonable extension of Follow Your Neighbor, since we regularly do Scoot Back from both a Mini-Wave Box and a Single 1/4 Tag.

Grand Follow Your Neighbor [A1]: From Columns or other applicable formations. Out-Facing Ends 1/2 Split Circulate & U-Turn Back as the others 1/2 Circulate & Arm Turn 3/4. Columns end in a Tidal Wave.

Cross Your Neighbor [C1] (Gus Greene 1969): From a Mini-Wave Box or applicable T-Bone 2 x 2. Leaders 1/2 Box Circulate & U-Turn Back as Trailers Cross Extend & Arm Turn 3/4. A Mini-Wave Box ends in an opposite-handed Two-Faced Line.

any Tagging Call Your Neighbor [C2]: Do the any Tagging call to the 1/2 Tag position; Follow Your Neighbor. Ends in a Wave. For example, a Tag Your Neighbor is a 1/2 Tag; Follow Your Neighbor.
