| Maker Comments | Among the independent cacao producers who dedicate their love and care to Venezuela's coastal lands, is Vicente Ramón Fuentes Zapata. Vicente runs Finca Torres a historical farm located within Henri Pittier National Park close to Chuao & Ocumare. The park is made up of cloud forests, mountains & shoreline, home to hundreds of different species of birds & plants. The farm is one of only 6 cacáo haciendas left in an area famed for its Criollo lineage - a disappearing legacy. We were lucky to receive 3 bags from his annual production of only 1.5 tons. These beans exhibit characteristics of a classic Venezuelan coastal Criollo mix-up. Origin: Choroni, Aragua, Venezuela. Tasting notes: molasses, coffee, walnut, date, mulberry. |
