From a 3/4 Tag or other applicable formations.

Outsides Cast Back (Peel Off) as Centers Fold to face each other (danced as a Single Wheel); all Slide Thru.

A 3/4 Tag ends in general Columns. Ramble is a 2-part call.

In the following diagram, = Boy and = Girl.

From a 3/4 Tag:

before
Ramble
  after
Outsides Cast Back
as Centers Fold to face
(1/2)
 after
Slide Thru
(done)
From an unusual setup:

before
Ramble
  after
Outsides Cast Back
as as Centers Fold to face
(1/2)
 after
Slide Thru
(done)

Notes:
  • Ramble is a sex-dependent call since it involves a Slide Thru. Since Ramble is called from all possible sex-arrangements at C1, many dancers learning C1 need to re-learn how to properly do a Slide Thru.
  • Some glossaries define the Outside's part of Ramble as a Divide (1/4 Out & Ends Bend) instead of a Cast Back (or Peel Off), hence you may encounter a caller calling Ramble from a setup in which some of the Outsides start facing in.

Slide Thru [Mainstream] (Harlan Moody 1965): From Facing Dancers or a R-H Mini-Wave. Pass Thru; Girls Face Left as Boys Face Right. Opposite sex dancers end as a Couple; Two Boys end in a R-H Mini-Wave; Two Girls end in a L-H Mini-Wave. Slide Thru is a sex-dependent call.

Scoot & Ramble [C1] (Norm Poisson 1973): From a 1/4 Tag. Scoot Back; Ramble. Ends in Generalized Columns.

In the following diagram, = Boy and = Girl.

before
Scoot & Ramble
 after
Scoot Back
  after
Outsides Cast Back
as Centers Fold to face
 after

(done)

Interlocked Ramble [C3B]: From a 3/4 Line or other applicable formations. Outsides Cast Back as Centers Once Removed Fold to face (danced as an Any Shoulder Turn & Deal); all Slide Thru.

In the following diagram, = Boy and = Girl.
