Old Call(s)
Cue Sheet

NOTE: This record represents a departure in Square Dance music. It is a "chord
Pattern" without melody. Six singing calls (and perhaps more) can be done to this
record. This is possible since the chord pattern of each tune is the same. The only difference is the melody which you can supply. In addition, the record can
be used as a good hoedown. One of the exciting possibilities of a record of this
type is that the caller can do singing medleys. Lee has arranged four different
calls to use with this record. Perhaps you can do several more...or even compose
your own tune. Try these in any combination.

When The Saints Go Marchin' In

OPENER - MIDDLE BREAK - CLOSER    Basic

Four ladies chain across the ring
Chain right back again
Walk around your corner girl, see saw round your pearl
Gents star right once around
Left allemande, grand right & left
When the saints go marching in
Promenade
How I want to be in that number
When the saints go marching in

FIGURE    Basic, corner progression

Heads right & left thru, then star thru
Pass thru and then you swing
Circle left, go round the ring now
When the saints go marching in
Left allemande, grand right & left
When the saints go marching in
Dosado, promenade around in that number
When the saints go marching in

Mama Don't Allow

OPENER - MIDDLE BREAK - CLOSER

1 & 3 promenade halfway
2 & 4 the ladies chain and then
1 & 3 right & left thru, turn and dixie chain you do
Both turn left, the side couples pass thru
Allemande left your corner, grand old right & left
Mama don't allow no square dancing here
Promenade
I don't care what mama don't allow
We're going to square dance anyhow
Mama don't allow any square dancing here

FIGURE    C4, corner progression

Head two couples promenade go halfway
Square thru 3/4 round
Separate round one you do, into the middle and star thru
Cross trail, your corner gonna swing
Left allemande, grand old right & left
Mama don't allow any square dancing here
Promenade
I don't care what mama don't allow
We're going to square dance anyhow
Mama don't allow any square dancing here

Crawdad Song

OPENER - MIDDLE BREAK - CLOSER

Allemande left your corner, go allemande thar
Right & left back up in a star
Let that star in the heavens whirl, right & left to the second girl
Back up honey, baby mine
Shoot that star, right & left grand around now
Meet your girl and then you promenade
Promenade to the crawdad hole
You get a line, I'll get a pole
Honey, baby mine

FIGURE

Head two couples promenade just halfway
Side couples right & left thru I say
1 & 3 right & left thru, turn now while couples 4 & 2
Star thru, pass thru and swing
Left allemande the corner, grand right & left around
Meet your girl and then you promenade
You get a line, I'll get a pole
Head on down to the crawdad hole
Honey, baby mine

Coming Round The Mountain

OPENER - MIDDLE BREAK - CLOSER    Basic

Join hands and circle to the left
Circle round the mountain, circle home
Walk around your corner, see saw round your taw
Men star right, once around the hall
Allemande left your corner, grand old right & left
Meet your girl and promenade her home
Promenade the ring, go back home again
Promenade the mountain, promenade

FIGURE

Head two ladies chain across, side couples swing
Chain 'em round the mountain, chain 'em home
Side two ladies chain, head two couples swing again
Chain 'em around the mountain, chain 'em home
Allemande left your corner, walk on by your own
Swing the right hand lady round and round
Then promenade the ring, go back home again
Promenade the mountain, promenade

(This music can also be used for Red River Valley and The Old Pine Tree.)
