OPENER - MIDDLE BREAK - CLOSER

Well allemande left ol' corner, then you wagon wheel your girl
Men star left the girls hook on, go walkin' round the world
The hub flies full around, girls star right across the town
Opposite left, go full around, all eight chain as you come down
It's right & left and turn your own, then corners dosado
Come back and promenade the one you know
*It's much more fun to dance than write a letter
So swing and throw your pencil away

ALTERNATE LYRICS

(middle break)
*Well it don't make sense to write yourself a letter
When you can swing a good-lookin' girl

(closer)
*Well if you sit down right now to write a letter
You're gonna miss this one last chance to swing

FIGURE

Well 1 & 3 you promenade halfway round the square
Come into the middle, opposites swing, and face the outside pair
Split that couple, make a line, forward up and back in time
Center arch, ends duck in, around 1 to the middle again
Trail thru and turn your corners left, left allemande
Pass your own and promenade the next
**Promenade this brand new girl and she'll feel better
When you take her home and swing, swing, swing

ALTERNATE LYRICS (FOR PROMENADE)

**If your wife is always fussin', just forget her
And swing your cares and troubles away

**If you tell this pretty girl you're glad you met her
She'll swing with you forever more

**This gal would dance all night if you'd just let her
So swing and sway until the dawn

TAG

Yes indeed, you'd better grab this one last chance to swing

Cue Sheet side B

OPENER - MIDDLE BREAK - CLOSER

Well you walk around your corner, then you see saw round your pet
Pass your corner right on by and swing and whirl the next
Allemande left new corners, go right & left that's all
The 3rd little Sue belongs to you, so promenade the hall
Now the girls turn in to a right hand star, gents just stand and wait
When this one gets on back to you, just left hand swing that date
*Then you promenade around the ring, go right back home you know
You swing a few with Little Sue, and the heads get set to go

FIGURE

Now 1 & 3 go forward and back, the sides a 1/2 sashay
The sides pass thru and split the ring, go round just one that way
Into the middle and box the gnat, then pull 'em right on thru
Left allemande new corners all, then promenade your Sue
And now the 1st and 3rd you wheel around, and circle up 4 hands there
The side gents break and make a line, pass thru across the square
Now bend the line, 2 ladies chain, and you turn a brand new Sue
Promenade home, no time to swing, just stand there 2 by 2

ALTERNATE LYRICS

(closer)
**Now you promenade with Little Sue, the girl you love the best
And swing with her 'bout fourteen times, well I mean more or less

I'm Gonna Sit Right Down And Write Myself A Letter Lyrics ID: 758

I'm gonna sit right down and write myself a letter
And make believe it came from you
I'm gonna write words, oh, so sweet
They're gonna knock me off my feet.
A lotta kisses on the bottom, I'll be glad I've got 'em

I'm gonna smile and say "I hope you're feelin' better"
Then close "with love" the way that you do
I'm gonna sit right down and write myself a letter, ah-huh
I'm gonna make believe it came from you

I'm gonna sit right down write myself a letter, oh, babe
And make believe it came from you
I'm gonna write words, oh, so sweet
They're gonna knock me off my feet
A lotta kisses on the bottom, I'll be glad I've got 'em

I'll smile and say "I hope you're feelin' better"
Then close "with love" the way that you do
I'm gonna sit right down, write myself a letter, oh yeah
I'm gonna make believe it came from you

Lyrics by Joe Young and Fred E. Alhert.
