Old Call(s)
Cue Sheet side A

OPENER - MIDDLE BREAK - CLOSER    Basic, R-H lady progression

Walk all around the corner, see saw round your pet
Gents star right and turn it, go once around the set
Allemande left the corner, walk by your own
Right hand round the right hand girl, left hand there at home
4 ladies chain across the ring, turn that gal and then
Chain 'em back and turn your own, promenade again
Promenade your partner, she'll sing along with you
An apple for the teacher, a gift from me and you

FIGURE    C4, corner progression

4 little ladies chain across and couples 2 and 4
Right & left thru across the set, turn the girl once more (backaway)
4 ladies chain again, promenade the ring
Promenade, don't slow down, heads you wheel around
Cross trail thru, u-turn back, circle 8 and then
Turn your corner under, promenade again
Promenade your partner, she'll sing along with you
An apple for the teacher, a gift from me and you

Cue Sheet side B

OPENER - MIDDLE BREAK - CLOSER    Basic

4 little ladies promenade go round that big ole ring
Box the gnat, men star left go once around again
Pick up your own an arm around, star promenade you know
Inside out, outside in, the other way round you go
4 ladies rollaway, men star right and then
Girls turn back go twice around the ring
The second time you meet turn a left-hand round your maid
Walk all around the corner, come home and promenade
You must have been a beautiful baby,
'cause baby just look at you now

FIGURE    Basic, no progression

1st and 3rd go up and back, sides rollaway
Heads pass thru around one, behind the sides stay
Go forward up and back, then double pass thru
Sides turn back and swing with the one that's facing you
Allemande left the corner, go home and box the gnat
Girls star left once around
Same man box the gnat, dosado right after that
Left allemande come home promenade
Oh you must have been a beautiful baby,
'cause baby just look at you now

An Apple For The Teacher

You're sophisticated
I think I'm naive
Well, let's play the game that way
Yes, that's what I believe

An apple for the teacher
That seems the thing to do
Because I wanta learn
About romance from you

An apple for the teacher
Just to show that I'm meek and mild
If you insist on saying
That I'm just a problem child

You're gonna get all my attention
And your wish will be my rule
And maybe you'll be good to me
Just keep me after school

An apple for the teacher
That's how I'd better start
Then after while you may give in
And let me bring my heart

An apple for the teacher
That seems the thing to do
Because I wanta to learn
About romance from you

An apple for the teacher
To show I'm meek and mild
If you insist on saying
That I'm just a problem child

You'll get all my attention
Your wish will be my rule
And maybe you'll be good to me
And keep me after school

An apple for the teacher
That's how I'd better start
Then after while you may give in
And let me bring my heart

An apple for the teacher
S'always gonna do the trick

Not if you didn't study
Your arithmetic

I got an apple for the teacher
Gonna make a great success

Well it won't, if you didn't memorize
The Gettysburg address

I got a little bit of glamour
And a charm that's cute and quaint

I may excuse your grammar
And believe you was what you ain't

I got an apple, big red apple for the teacher
That's how I'm fixin' to start

Then after while I may give in
And let you bring your heart

Then after while she may give in
And let you bring your heart

Lyrics by Johnny Burke and James V. Monaco.
Recorded by Bing Crosby.

You Must Have Been A Beautiful Baby

Does your mother realize,
The stork delivered quite a prize,
The day he left you on the fam'ly tree?
Does your dad appreciate,
That you are merely super great,
The miracle of any century!
If they don't, just send them both to me.

You must have been a beautiful baby,
You must have been a wonderful child.
When, you were only startin'
To go to kindergarten,
I bet you drove the little boys wild.

And when it came to winning blue ribbons,
You must have shown the other kids how.
I can see the judges' eyes
As they handed you the prize,
I bet you made the cutest bow.

Oh! You must have been a beautiful baby,
'cause, baby, look at you now.

Composed by Harry Warren.
Lyrics by Johnny Mercer and Harry Warren.
Recorded by Tommy Dorsey; Bing Crosby; Bobby Darin; others.
