Four ladies promenade one time round now
Come back and swing your man
Join all your hands, circle left, around the ring you go
Allemande left and weave the ring
Somewhere over the rainbow
Swing your lady, promenade
Birds fly over the rainbow
Why then, oh why can't I?

FIGURE    Basic, corner progression

Head two couples promenade halfway around with the maid
Walk into the middle and now square thru
Go all the way around the ring, right & left thru, turn I sing
Now veer to the left, ferris wheel to the middle of the ring
Square thru 3/4 round there
Swing the corner, promenade
Birds fly over the rainbow
Why then, oh why can't I?

Why then, oh why can't I?

Somewhere Over The Rainbow

Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high
There's a land that I heard of
Once in a lullaby

Somewhere over the rainbow
Skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true

Some day I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where troubles melt like lemondrops
Away above the chimney tops
That's where you'll find me

Somewhere over the rainbow
Bluebirds fly
Birds fly over the rainbow
Why then, oh why can't I?

If happy little bluebirds fly
Beyond the rainbow
Why, oh why can't I?

Composed by Harold Arlen.
Lyrics by E.Y. Harburg.
Recorded by Judy Garland.
