OPENER - CLOSER    Basic

Allemande left your corner, your partner Box the Gnat
Wrong way grand and then right after that
Meet your own turn her right all the way around
Allemande left go right & left grand I say
Freight train, freight train going so fast
Swing your partner, promenade at last
I don't care what train I'm on as long as it keeps moving on

FIGURE (4 times through)

Heads (Sides) go up to the middle & back and then star thru
Pass thru, circle up half way and then dive thru
Substitute you do, then a double pass thru
First couple right the next one left, right & left thru (turn her)
2 ladies chain to a left allemande full turn you go
Dosado your partner, take the corner promeno
Promenade take this lady down the track
When your home, side face grand square, here we go
It's 1, 2, 3, turn (etc., for Grand Square)

(Callers note: On called side, both Sides & Heads are used as facing couples in
the Grand Square movement for more interest and variation. Stress the full turn
from the Allemande to Dosado original partner.)

Freight Train

Freight train, freight train, run so fast
Freight train, freight train, run so fast
Please don't tell what train I'm on
They won't know what route I'm going

When I'm dead and in my grave
No more good times here I crave
Place the stones at my head and feet
And tell them all I've gone to sleep

When I die, oh bury me deep
Down at the end of old Chestnut Street
So I can hear old Number Nine
As she comes rolling by

When I die, oh bury me deep
Down at the end of old Chestnut Street
Place the stones at my head and feet
And tell them all I've gone to sleep

Freight train, freight train, run so fast
Freight train, freight train, run so fast
Please don't tell what train I'm on
They won't know what route I'm going

Lyrics by Elizabeth Cotten.
