FIGURE

Doci around your corner gal
(Dosado corner)
Swing now your own little pal
First lady go round the center, petticoat a-weavin'
(No. 1 lady promenade inside of square
Swing 'em all, promenade
(When No. 1 lady gets back to partner, everybody swing (time for 1 or 2 swings) then promenade.)
Needn't even say you're leavin'
Backtrack and take her along
(Without changing hands, man takes a right face turn, lady a left face turn,
to reverse your direction of promenade, man still inside of square)
The ladies star left, the gents move on
(Gents pull ladies across in front of them to the center of square, ladies make a
left hand star while the gents move forward in the same direction as before.)
Ladies slide out, gents slide in
(When partners meet [1st time] ladies slide out while gents slide in, face to
face, and continue on in same direction.)
Next time a left like an allemande thar, star again
(Next time partners meet, gents turn ladies by the left to an allemande thar star,
gents backing up in a right hand star.)
Then shoot that star, promenade a new maid
(Shoot the star, gents promenade the lady ahead, original right hand lady.)
Somebody stole my gal

BREAK - CLOSER

Let's all join hands and circle left, say looking for your girl
Reverse back in a single file, I'd search the whole wide world
(Circle left, then reverse direction and promenade in single file.)
The ladies stay home, the gents move on, pass ma and Arkansas
(The ladies stop, gents on around the outside passing two ladies, partner and
right hand lady.)
Tap that next one on the shoulder
Swing her boy, get a little bolder
(Original partner)
Four gents star, turn the opposite a left elbow
(Gents make a right hand star and turn the opposite lady.)
Star back in the middle, 3/4 round to the corner girl you know
(Gents star 3/4 to the original corner girl.)
Allemande left with the corner of the ring
A right & left grand and you'll hear me sing
Buy her a Cadillac and a wedding ring
Latch right on to her apron string

Then you promenade her home again
Now that you've found your gal
Cue Sheet side B

OPENER - MIDDLE BREAK - CLOSER

Sashay round your corner, she's a darlin'
See saw round your own little darlin' too
Allemande left with your left hand
Right to your honey, right & left grand
Go right & left around the ring
Hand over hand with the dear little thing
Then promenade the girl who calls you darlin'
Swing that girl around when you get home
Step right back and look her in the eye
Swing her again, You'll all know why
You'll always call her darlin' evermore

FIGURE

1st and 3rd go out to the right and circle four hands round
Go twice around in a pretty little ring you go
(1st and 3rd couples walk to the couples on their right. They join hands and
circle to the left, twice around.)
Break at the heads, form two lines
(No. 1 and No. 3 gents drop hands with the lady on their left and they form a
straight line of four facing each other across the set.)
Go forward and back, you're doing fine
(Two lines of four walk forward three steps and back three steps.)
A right & left thru across the set
Turn back, you're not through yet
A right & left back with the girl who calls you darlin', turn 'em twice
And the ladies chain once down the line
(The gents turn the ladies as in a right & left thru, then the ladies, touching
right hands, pass right shoulders and extend left hand to the left hands of the
gent directly opposite.)
Promenade around with the new little girl you've found
She'll always call you darlin' evermore

Somebody Stole My Gal

Somebody stole my gal,
Somebody stole my pal,
Somebody came and took her away,
She didn't even say she was leavin',
Her kisses I love so,
He's gettin' now I know...
And gee, I know that she,
Would come to me
If she could see,
Her broken hearted lonesome pal,
Somebody stole my gal!

Lyrics by Leo Wood.
Recorded by Johnnie Ray; Cab Calloway.

You Call Everybody Darling

You call everybody Darlin'
And everybody calls you Darlin' too
You don't mean what you're sayin'
It's just a game you're playin'
But you'll find someone else can play the game as well as you
If you call everybody Darlin'
Then love won't come a-knockin' at your door
And as the years go by
You'll sit and wonder why
Nobody calls you Darlin' anymore

(You call everybody Darling
And everybody calls you Darling too
No, no, no, you don't mean what you're sayin'
It's just a game you're playin'
But you'll find someone else can play the game as well as you
If you call everybody Darling
Then love won't come a-knockin' at your door, nevermore
And as the years go by
You'll sit and wonder why
Nobody calls you Darling anymore)

You call everybody (what?) Darlin' (Oh, dear me, yes)
And everybody calls you Darlin' too (how many times in the day do I say)
You don't mean what you're sayin'
It's just a game you're playin'
But you'll find someone else can play the game as well as you (maybe better)
If you call everybody (what?) Darlin'
Then love won't come a-knockin' at your door
Who's there? (not love)
And as the years go by
You'll sit and wonder why
Nobody calls you Darlin' anymore

Lyrics by Sam Martin, Ben Trace and Clem Watts.
Recorded by The Andrews Sisters.
