Bill Privett

Bill Privett was born Jan. 5, 1924 and died Dec. 27, 2002. Bill was a good man who loved music. He started a label Royaltone. He recorded at Sun Studio. Charlie Feathers worked with him some. His best known song was a novelty about 2 men who robbed a bank dressed as women "Adamsville". The robbery actually did happen. I liked one "Lonely One" with a very unusual sound. I think it just had keyboard and a woman and little girl vocal backing. The vocal backing was close and gave a haunting quality. He continued recording at least until 1993. For years he did dances, including square dances. He did volunteer work with other senior citizens.
