RETIRED in 2018 from Calling with 46+ years of calling and teaching experience. No longer able to call or dance
because of health issues or I would still be there doing what I loved. "Live to Dance - Dance to Live"
My suggestion after 40 plus years for better Sound -
(1)Louder isn't always better. Clarity is the key. Listen to the sound reaching the floor not that coming
from your monitor speaker. You need to listen to what the dancers hear.
(2)Select a microphone that has a response curve compatible with your voice. A BASS response microphone
won't work with your BASS voice it makes you sound fuzzy, and Ladies that have a high pitched voice
a microphone with a high frequency response curve makes you sound screechy. Choose music that works with
your vocal range.
(3) RECORD YOURSELF then later dance to your own calling. How do you sound, how is your timing and
choreograph? If they cannot clearly understand you then they cannot comfortably dance to your calling.
