Dave and Claudia started dancing in 1994. Dave made the life-changing decision to take up calling in 2005, and became Strathmore’s club caller in 2008. In addition, Dave teaches new dancers for a club in Calgary and calls/teaches part-time for a club in Rocky Mountain House. He uses Dale Bennett’s innovative new dancer program called “The Nest” – a program that offers weekly entry points and accommodates dancer absences and different learning paces. Dave enjoys calling for special occasions such as weddings, birthday and anniversary parties, staff parties, summer camps and other special events. Claudia started cueing rounds in 2008. She teaches 1/2 hour of rounds for two clubs, prior to the start of each square dance evening to anyone who wants to learn basic two-step or waltz steps. She is actively involved in promoting square and round dancing. Claudia is the editor of the “Alberta Chatter” newsletter, which provides promotion and marketing ideas, shines a light on people in the dance community, and provides history and general information about our much loved activity. I am a beginner caller (less than 4 years) and have called contra and New Dancer Square Daning. I am now retired from public school teaching and have taken a weekend caller's school on 2013. I don't consider myself a caller yet. I need lots of practice. I call in Vanderhoof BC. "Dance.... just for the health of it" I believe that with a great deal of practice... anyone can be a good main stream dancer. I have done some folk dance teaching in a couple of public school (2 lessons a week) and the kids enjoy that (Grade 2 and 3). And also an afternoon with Girl Guides teaching very beginning square dancing. I am not looking for bookings in my area at all. I do however enjoy a one time dance with children (after all my years of primary teaching and also music lessons with youth.)

The Sussex Corner Club meets every Friday evening in season at 7.30 pm. The Club accepts new dancers at any time who will be included in the evening's dance program although not in every dance. I call for a Club my wife and I created in 1999 called the Admiral Dancers, our club dances Saturday evenings 8-10 pm in Digby Nova Scotia. Also I have started a Childrens group of 4-6 graders , dancing Thursday evenings,at a local school. I've been calling for 7 years. I am a retired Professor of Civil Engineering that loves to dance and teach. I am the Round Dance Leader for "Dancing Shadows" Club and for "Rag Rounds" Club, and also the Caller for "Golden Squares" for seniors. After dancing for 18 years, Wendy started calling in January 2001, being urged many times because of her lovely singing voice. She is the club caller for Meri Squares (teaching SSD), Ottawa Date Squares (SSD, Plus, A1), Russell Squares (SSD), and Square Dance Ottawa (a monthly intro dance for non-square dancers). She also calls regularly for Glengarry Tartans (SSD). Wendy has called in 6 US States and 3 Canadian Provinces. She’s also called at many US and Canadian Nationals. She loves doing Party Nights, introducing people to Modern Square Dancing and just giving them a fun time. Wendy has recorded 5 singing calls with Sharpshooter and 1 with Hipster Productions.

Kevin started calling in 1974 as a teenager. Since then he has moved on to becoming one of Canada's most recongnized international callers. He calls from beginners to C1, and travels frequently, throughout Canada, United States and to Sweden, Denmark, Germany and many more countries. He is a single father to his 22 year old son, Stephen Kyle Van Vliet.

Kelly and Brendan started dancing in 2016. Attended first caller school in 2019. They attended both attended the GSA caller school in Ottawa (2023) and Kelly attended the one in Minneapolis (2022). Kelly has called at Federation and Convention dances in Lloydminster and Calgary, respectively. She taught her first SSD class Jan-Apr 2023 and 2024 and is currently the main caller for Happy Hearts Square and Round Dance Club in Regina, Saskatchewan. Thursday nights starting in September, thru to April; 6:30-8:00 SSD Class and dance 8:00-10:00. Jan-Apr. class Tuesday's 6:30-8:30.
