A friend of mine from Salt Lake City, who was in for the festivities, invited me to try out Square Dancing at IAGSDC Chi-Town Shakedown in Chicago, IL. I didn't quite make it to the Shakedown event, but promised to check out the local club. Having thoroughly enjoyed my time learning square dance in Middle School. I joined the club that fall and started adult lessons. Two years later I started a "tough plus" study group to help our class learn the plus definitions, DBD style. I continued my love of Square Dance by calling Basic/Mainstream Review with Chi-Town Squares in 2012 and attended the GCA Caller School in 2013, ’14, ’16 and ’17, gaining much experience and confidence behind the mic. Combined with my joy of singing, I bring my enthusiasm for Square Dancing passionately into every moment of my time calling. I actively continue to promote Square Dance with an emphasis on new dancers, along with Flourish/Styling classes and A2 with experienced dancers. I currently call for Northshore Square in Evanston, IL and carry out other personal Square Dance projects in Chicago.
