John Reitmajer was a Southern California square dance caller. John died January 5, 2014. Calling since 1969, he called throughout So. Calif. for various clubs. John started dancing when he was 8 years old and began his calling career when he was 10 in North Hollywood, CA. John taught Basics for Happy Squares in Simi Valley on Thursdays, A1 on Tuesdays in Canoga Park & A2 with C1 on Mondays in Northridge for the Hayshakers Square Dance Club since 1974. John was known for his smooth calling and his excellent teaching. He also enjoyed the opportunity to travel to different areas for dances, festivals and meeting nice people. Rest in peace.
