Triangle FORMATION [C1]: A Triangle is a 3-dancer formation consisting of 2 Base dancers and an Apex dancer.

In a Tandem-Based Triangle the Base dancers form a Generalized Tandem; in a Wave-Based Triangle, the Base dancers form a Generalized Couple.

Note: The Base dancers need not be adjacent. E.g., from the Hourglass formation shown above, the Base dancers of the Wave-Based Triangle are far apart.

Triangle Circulate [C1]: From a Triangle. Move forward to the next position within the Triangle, turning as necessary to take the original facing direction (or original opposite facing direction, if it is a facing Triangle Circulate) of the dancer who was originally there.

Note: As with a Box Circulate or Diamond Circulate, when doing a Triangle Circulate, maintain the handedness of the formation (i.e., keep the same shoulder toward the Center of the Triangle).

Inpoint | Outpoint Triangle IDENTIFICATION [C1]: From Twin Diamonds: the In | Out-Facing Point is the Apex of a Triangle. The other Point of the same Diamond must be facing the opposite direction.

Inside Triangle IDENTIFICATION [C1]: Ignoring the outside two dancers, there is a Triangle on each side.

Outside Triangle IDENTIFICATION [C1]: Ignoring the Very Centers, there is a Triangle on each side.

In | Out-Center Triangle IDENTIFICATION [C1V]: From Point-to-Point Diamonds. The In | Out-Facing Center is the Apex of a Triangle. This identification is rarely used.

anyone-Point Triangle IDENTIFICATION [C1V]: From Twin Diamonds. This identification can be used when both points of the Diamond are facing the same direction.

 
Beau-Point Triangles Belle-Point Triangles

anyone-Based Triangles IDENTIFICATION [C1V]: From setups such as C1 Phantoms where there are several possible Triangles. The anyone dancers are the Base dancers of a Triangle.

"L" FORMATION [C4]: An "L" is a 3-dancer formation that can be obtained from a 2 x 2 after removing any one of the dancers.
