At the A2-level (i.e., from normal Columns), "normalize" means to Circulate one position to form a Center Box. At other levels, "normalize" means to step forward to form a compact formation. "Normalize" is dependent upon the starting formation and the facing directions of dancers within that formation. A "normalize" could be a 1/2 Circulate, a full Circulate, or a Circulate 1 & 1/2.
