Notes:
  • In-Facing Ends (the 'In-Rollers') should identify themselves by raising a hand, and/or making a noise (e.g., whistle, yell "me") so that the other dancers in their line know toward which end to move.
  • Don't move until the 'In-Roller' in your Line identifies themself and you know which way to go.
  • The non-In-Roller's part is to Flip (180°) one position down the line toward the vacated End position. This action is sometimes described as a 'Run' or alternatively, as one movement, turn 1/4 toward the In-Rollers starting spot, step forward into the next position, and turn another 1/4 toward your initial turning direction.
  • Everybody except for the original In-Facing End can Roll.
  • Each Line can only have one In-Facing End. If you're the Out-Facing End or adjacent dancer, move toward the far End position.
  • If both Ends are Facing In, the caller can designate a 'preferred' End to do the Circulate. For example, from Facing Lines, the caller could say Prefer the End Girl for an In Roll Circulate. In this case, the End Girl does a Circulate, as the Others Flip (180°) one position toward the 'preferred' End.

Out Roll Circulate [A2]: From Parallel Lines in which the Ends of each Line are facing opposite directions. Out-Facing Ends Circulate as the Others Flip (180°) one position down the line toward the vacated End position. Ends in Parallel Lines.

Zoom Roll Circulate [C4]: From Parallel Lines in which the Ends all have their right-shoulder toward the center, or all have their left-shoulder toward the center. Out-Facing Ends Zoom as the Others Flip (180°) one position down the line toward the vacated End position. Ends in Parallel Lines.

In Roll To A Diamond [C4]: From Parallel Lines in which the Ends all have their right-shoulder toward the center, or all have their left-shoulder toward the center. In-Facing Ends and adjacent Centers do your part of In Roll Circulate as the Others slide sideways toward the Center (to become Centers) and Hinge. Ends in Twin Diamonds.

In Roll To A Wave [C4]: From Twin Diamonds or Parallel Lines in which the Ends all have their right-shoulder toward the center, or all have their left-shoulder toward the center. Ends do your part of In Roll Circulate as the Centers move toward the vacated End position (without changing their facing direction) and Hinge. Twin Diamonds end in Parallel Lines; Parallel Lines end in a C1 Phantom position.
