Drop direction -- [C2]
   (Lee Kopman 1975)

Language: or              All
   edit def

From a Diamond or Generalized Single 1/4 Tag with the Centers in a Mini-Wave. EN: 10

Centers do your part of Extend the Tag as the Others 1/4 toward the given direction (relative to the 4-dancer formation). Adjust to end in a 2 x 2. EN: 20

Drop In

Drop Right

Note: Drop Back means Drop U-Turn Back (unless, of course, you are attempting to dance at a level way over your head!). EN: 30

There is a potential ambiguity dependent upon whether the outsides turn 1/4 before or after the Centers Extend (pay special attention to dancers and below): EN: 40

This is the starting formation
for each of the following:

Case 1
(Ends 1/4 In then
Centers Extend & adjust) EN: 50

Case 2
(Centers Extend & adjust
then original Ends 1/4 In) EN: 60

We prefer Case 2 for the following reasons: EN: 70
  • It makes Drop a 4-dancer call instead of an 8-dancer call. EN: 80
  • It allows Drop direction to be called from any Single 1/4 Tag. EN: 90
  • It is consistent with the wording of the CALLERLAB definitions. EN: 100

Interlocked Drop direction [C2V]:
From Interlocked Diamonds. Everyone except the Very Centers do a normal Drop direction as the Very Centers Interlocked Extend (as one movement back-to-back Slither and Extend). EN: 283

Cross Drop direction [C4]:
Centers Cross Extend instead of Extend. EN: 897

  • Center Six Drop direction;
  • Grand Drop direction.
