1)	(optional) Upgrade to Latest Version on the old computer

If possible, upgrade to the latest version of CSDS on the old computer.

If you receive an error, either skip this step, or see

2)	Copy Program Data to New Computer

Copy the CSDS application data folder to the new computer.

This folder is usually named C:\CsdsData or C:\SQDATA.

To determine the location of this folder, run CSDS, and from the CSDS main menu, select 'System | Change application data folder'.

All CSDS data, other than registry settings, should reside under the Application Data Folder.

Copy the application data folder to the new computer, renaming it if desired.

3)	Install CSDS onto New Computer

Download, install, then run the latest version of CSDS on the new computer.

Upon running the program, you will be prompted for the location of the application data folder. Enter the pathname of the folder that you copied above.

You may get a few error messages indicating there's a database version mismatch. Ignore them. If they persist, the fix is close CSDS, delete the offending database (e.g., List.mdb), the re-run CSDS and the program will download the latest version from the web.

4)	(optional) Copy Registry Settings to New Computer

1. On the old computer, run CSDS;
2. From the menu, select 'Other | Registry | Export';
3. Specify a filename, and click the 'Save' button;
4. Copy this file to the new computer;
5. On the new computer, run CSDS;
6. From the menu, select 'Other | Registry | Import';
7. Specify the filename, and click the 'Open' button.

5)	(optional) Install Winamp and Pacemaker|Chronotron onto New Computer

If you use Winamp and Chronotron or Pacemaker, you also have to install those programs.

6)	If your Music Files and Cue Sheets do NOT reside beneath the application data folder:

1. Copy those files to the new computer, keeping the folder structure intact.
   Do your best to copy everything to the same location on the new computer. A common issue, is that callers often save their music files in the windows "Music" folder, and this folder has a different absolute pathname depending upon the logged-in user.
   To fix this issue, run CSDS, select 'Music | Edit Music Database' and see if you can access your files (try to play several different files). If CSDS can not find the files, you can use 'Tools | File pathnames | Replace Folder Name' to modify the absolute folder pathnames.
    
2. Verify that your music files are properly linked.
   Run CSDS, select 'Music | Edit Music Database'. Then select 'Tools | File pathnames | Find non-existent files'. Do not check any boxes, then press OK. You may need to resolve a bunch of pathnames. There are tools in the CSDS Edit Music Database to assist with this. Contact Vic for further assistance.
