Getin/Getout - Find several records

Find several records searches for and displays a set of getins or getouts that match a search criteria such as a given FASR.

Select a Getin/Getout database:

After selecting a database, for example the GETOUT database, the Find GETOUT Record(s) window will open. Specify the search parameters and press 'OK'.

The GETOUT record(s) matching search criteia window eppears.

Window Parts

  • The Perm # (upper L-H corner) is the perm number of the current getin/getout.
  • The [dancer icons] (upper L-H area) show the locations and facing directions of dancers within the formation for the current getin/getout.
  • The Last call was field (center L-H area) shows what the last line of the sequence is.
  • The getin/getout text (upper R-H corner) displays the entire text for the current getin/getout.
  • The record information frame (center R-H area) shows fields within the current getin/getout.
    • Proofread indicates whether the record is proofread or not.
    • Level used at is the level at which the record was last used.
    • Date is the date that this record was last edited or 'used'.
    • Author is the author of the record.
    • Private indicates whether the record is private or not.
    • Quickie count is the number of times the record has been used in an opening biggie.
  • The grid (bottom of screen) shows all records matching the search criteria. There are three fields within the list box:
    • Level indicates the level of the getin/getout record.
    • Use indicates how many times the record has been used in a sequence (other than for an opening biggie).
    • Text is the text of the getin/getout record.

Menus

Edit

  • New record  Ctrl+N
Adds a new record to the current getin/getout database. The perm number of the new record defaults to the currently displayed formation so that in most cases only the text and private indicator need to be specified.
  • Edit selected record  Ctrl+E
Edits fields within the currently highlighted record. Double-clicking on a row within the grid also invokes this editor.
  • View selected record
Opens the View a record window for the highlighted record.
  • Copy text to clipboard  Ctrl+T
Copies the text of the record to the Windows clipboard.
  • Remove from list  Ctrl+R
Removes the record from the grid. The record is not deleted, but is simply no longer displayed in the grid.
  • Toggle delete nbsp;Ctrl+D
Toggles the delete status of highlighted record between deleted and not-deleted. Deleted records exist in the database (until the database is sorted) and may be undeleted if desired. Records marked as deleted are permanently removed from the database when the database is sorted.
  • Proofread  F12
Attempts to proofread the highlighted record.
    • For getin records, the program checks that when starting from a squared set and executing the highlighted calls, the dancers end in the displayed ending formation.
    • For getout records, the program checks that when starting from the displayed formation and executing the highlighted calls, a valid resolution results.
After proofreading, the proofread status of the highlighted record is updated to a 'Yes' or "no' as appropriate. The proofread status is located under the text box in the upper R-H corner immediately following 'Proofread ='.
  • Proofread Snippet [Graphics]  F8
  • Parse
    Parses the currently highlighted record.
  • Close  Ctrl+Q
Closes this window, returning to the previous window.

Find

  • Database
Changes the current database. This is a very useful feature: if for example, you are searching a getout database for a specific perm number and find a particularly good getout, you can use this menu option to change to a getin database and select a matching getin record in order to write an 'opening biggie'.
  • Change search criteria
Changes the search criteria for the currently displayed records.
  • Previous perm #  F1
Changes the current perm number to the preceding perm number within the current database, and does a search for that perm number.
  • Next perm #  F12
Changes the current perm number to the following perm number within the current database, and does a search for that perm number.

Grid

Use

Use increments one of the count fields within the record. The count fields indicate the number of times that the getin/getout record was used within your sequences.
  • Use normally
Prompts for the 'Level used at', and then increments the 'Use count' of the current record by 1. The 'Use count' is intended to count how many times the record was used within your sequences.
  • Use as quickie  Ctrl+K
Increments the 'Quickie count' of the current record by 1. The 'Quickie count' is intended to count how many times the record was used within an 'opening biggie'.

View

  • Show progression  F4
Opens the Show Progression window for the highlighted record.
  • Before bitmap  Ctrl+B
Shows the Formation Bitmap for the before formation.
  • After bitmap
Shows the Formation Bitmap for the after formation.
  • Refresh  F5
Refreshes data in the grid. If records were modified and no longer match the search criteria, they are no longer shown in the grid. For example, unless the search criteria says to show deleted records, they are no longer shown in the grid

*** OLD ***

Use and insert prompts for the 'Level used at', increments the 'Use count' of the record by 1, returns to the edit sequence screen, adds the getout to the sequence, and executes the calls within the getout.

View displays the currently highlighted record in full screen format. Other accesses infrequently used menu options. Delete all records, after confirmation, marks all records in the list as deleted. Un-delete all records, after confirmation, marks all records in the list as not deleted.
