Preferences - Global

The Preferences - Global window allows you to change preferences that affect all rotations.

There are 6 tabs:

  1. Tip Generation
  2. Colors
  3. Folders
  4. Miscellaneous
  5. New Rotation
  6. Scanner

Tip Generation tab

The Tip Generation tab enables the operator to choose a hot-key to use to generate the next tip, limit the amount of time the program uses to find the optimum solution for the next tip and to set the amount of time the program will wait before setting all dancers to Ready status regardless of special considerations (like wishing to sit out at regular intervals).

Colors tab

The Colors tab is used to modify the color schemes utilized in the program. Colors for individual status bars and themed colors for Toolbars and Grids can be modified and/or returned to default colors using this tab.

Folders tab

The Folders tab is used to select the default folder within which any output files generated by the program will be saved.

Miscellaneous tab

The Miscellaneous tab allows the operator to choose the default format for Couple Name (when using numbers for Couple Name), the default format for the date, time, monetary symbol for indicating whether a dancer has paid or not, and the Couple Delimiter (+, & or "and"). Settings are also available for compacting the database upon exiting the program, and checking for program updates.

New Rotation tab

The New Rotation tab allows the operator to configure the program to set four couples as sit-outs if there are even squares and some dancers wish to sit out. It also allows the operator to limit the program to a certain number of squares should the venue be restricted in size. Finally, it provides the operator with options of how to treat dancers who are marked as Students and Angels in certain ways.

Scanner tab

The Scanner tab allows the operator to configure the program to automatically turn the barcode scanner on, set the number of seconds before the scanner popup window fades out, and choose the hot-key used to terminate a scan.
