Tip Display - Customize

The Tip Display Customize Window is used to change the appearance and properties of the Tip Display. Different settings may be saved for the two different types of tip displays: By Square and By Name.

By Square

  • Header
    1. To change the color of the Header Foreground or Background, click the colored square next to the appropriate description in the Header section. The default color for the Header Foreground is black. The default color for the Header Background is grey.
    2. To change the default Header from "Square" to "Sqr" or "Sq" click the appropriate radio button.
    3. To change the font size, click the Font button to choose a size. The up or down arrows next to the Font button may also be used to increment the font size up or down.
    4. To change the displayed Header to be bold and/or italic, click the appropriate checkbox.
  • Name
    1. To change the color of the displayed dancer name, click the colored square next to the appropriate description in the Name section. The default color for Boy names is blue. The default color for Girl names is maroon. The default color for Couple names is black.

  • Grid

    2. To change the background color for the column of dancers who are sitting out, click the colored box next to Out Color. The default Out Color is peach.
    3. Four checkboxes exist to further customize the Tip Display By Square window. Changes occur instantly when the boxes are clicked to show the effect before committing to the change.
      • Use short names. When checked, this checkbox causes the dancer names to default to the short name saved for each dancer in the rotation (the default short name for a dancer is the first three letters of the last name followed by a comma and the first letter of the first name). This enables even more data to be displayed on the Tip Display window.
      • Combine Singles. When checked, this checkbox causes paired singles to be displayed once only, alphabetized using the Boy name of the couple first. When not checked, paired singles are displayed twice, once alphabetized by the Boy name first, and a second time alphabetized by the Girl name first.
      • Span Available Width. When checked, this checkbox causes the column widths to expand spanning the Tip Display window across the entire width of the window. When not checked, this checkbox causes the column widths to be as large as the largest entry only, and centers the Tip Display within the window.
      • Alternate Colors. When checked, this checkbox causes the displayed square boxes to alternate between the two chosen colors within the Tip Display window. When not checked, this checkbox causes all square boxes to display as white within the Tip Display window.
    4. To change the two chosen colors for the square boxes in Tip Display, click on the colored boxes next to Color 1 and/or Color 2. The default color for Color 1 is light green. The default color for Color 2 is white.
    5. When the Alternate Colors checkbox is checked, the colored square boxes can be alternated in three different manners: Checkered, by Column, or by Row. The default is Checkered. To change to an alternate manner, click on the appropriate radio button.
When all properties are set, click Save Changes to save the current settings, or click Cancel to cancel.
To return all settings to the default settings, click the Default All button.
