Winamp - fix Singer repeat issue

How to debug the issue if Winamp repeats a singer. That is, the singing call music repeats after it finishes.

First try...

The issue may be with Genre Flags or Duration
  1. Make sure you have the latest version of CSDS.
    (this is always a good idea).
    See How to - Upgrade CSDS.

  2. Make sure that the singer music does not have the genre flag 'Patter (Pat)' set.

  3. Do the following, just in case:
    1. From the CSDS main menu, select 'Music | Edit Database'.
    2. From the menu, select 'Tools | Update duration'.
    3. after completion, close the Edit Music Database window, saving changes.

  4. Open the music player, load any other piece of music, then load the singer with the issue.

Next try...

Examine the music player debug window
  1. Load the singer music into the CSDS music player.

  2. On the CSDS music player, select the 'Player' tab, and press the 'Debug' button.

    A pop-up box shows properties of the currently loaded music and the status of the music player.

    For example:
    CSDS 3.62
    2026-02-18 15:41:51

    Music Pathname     = C:\SQDATA\MUSIC\Singers\YouAreTheOnlyOneForMe-.mp3
    Unique ID          = 5783
    Title = You Are The Only One For Me
    Label + Number     = Mine 1

    MusicPlayerType    = Winamp
    MusicPlayerState   = STOPPED
    AutoLoopOnFlag     = False

    Current Time       = 00:00.000        0

    Duration from DB   = 03:43.660   223660
    TrackDuration      = 03:43.660   223660
    ExternalGetDur     = 03:43.660   223660

    FileExplorerGetDuration (msec) = 223660

    SoundLoopStartTime = 00:00.000        0
    SoundLoopEndTime   = 03:43.660   223660

    DoNotConfirmMusicLoopDefaultFlag = False

    In particular,
    • AutoLoopOnFlag should be False
    • The values for the Duration fields should be equal to each other, or fairly close to each other.

Finally...

The issue may be with the Winamp Repeat option
  1. Open Winamp.

  2. Change the skin to Bento.
    i.e., from the Winamp menu, select 'Options | Skins | Bento'.

  3. By clicking the Repeat button in the main window (bottom right corner in Bento skin, next to the lightning bolt).
    In the Bento & Modern skins, it's a 3-state button (Off, Repeat One, Repeat All)
    In the Classic skin, it's just Off & Repeat All

    Press the above button until you see 'Repeat Off' where the song title is shown.
