Ceder Square Dance System (CSDS) ==> Cue sheets

Miscellaneous questions
  1. I was looking at your cue sheets on the web and noticed they look like they are in HTML. Are they and if so, can you tell me why?
  2. What program do you use to type them in?
  3. It also looks like you have them all typed on one sheet. Do they not need to be typed in individual files?

  1. The cue sheets on our website physically reside in a database. When accessed, the PHP language is used to dynamically create the displayed HTML page.

The cue sheets are in HTML format because that is the standard format for the web.

  2. I use a text editor (e.g., Notepad, Wordpad, HTMLKit) to edit my HTML files.

Programs such as Microsoft Word can also be used to edit HTML files -- if you select 'Save As HTML'.

If you create your own cue sheets, I suggest that you save them in RTF (Rich Text Format). Rich Text Files display faster within CSDS, and eventually, our web-based cue sheets will also be available in RTF.

  3. To be used by CSDS, each cue sheet must be in a separate file.

The 'Download Cue Sheets for CSDS' option within the Record Database on our web site has all the cue sheets in a single file, so that CSDS can easily extract those that are needed.
