From Twin Diamonds.
- Diamond Circulate;
- Very Centers Trade;
- Center 4 Cast Off 3/4.
Usually ends in Parallel Lines.
Diamond Chain Thru is a 3-part call.
From R-H Diamonds: |
From Funny Diamonds: From the above starting formation, Diamond Circulate takes some
dancers to the same spot and hence those dancers step to right-hands
to share that spot. |
Notes:
-
After the Diamond Circulate, the new Outsides are finished! They have nothing
further to do. Unless the caller gives another command (e.g.,
Diamond Chain Thru, New Ends Circulate Twice), the Outsides just
stand there and wait (or clap hands as in Spin Chain Thru).
-
Before starting the call, the In-Facing Points should make eye-contact
with each other. These two dancers will do the 'Very Centers Trade'.
Don't let any of the other original Points grab you until after the
'Very Centers Trade'.
Is Diamond Chain Thru legal from Point-to-Point Diamonds?
- Our answer is No.
- The last part of Diamond Chain Thru is 'Center 4 Cast Off 3/4'.
'Center 4' refers to the 4 dancers closest to the center of the set,
and not the Centers of each side.
- Allowing Diamond Chain Thru to be legal from Point-to-Point
Diamonds introduces an ambiguity in the C1 call anything
Chain Thru (a.k.a., Finish Diamond Chain Thru).
For example, what happens from a Tidal Wave? After the Very Centers
Trade, who does the Cast Off 3/4? Is it the Center 4, or the Centers
of each side? For consistency sake, it must be the Center 4.
