From applicable formations.
All or Center 4 do the anything call. Outside 6 move up one position as in
Swing & Circle 1/4.
The move up direction for the Outside 6 (clockwise
or counter-clockwise) depends upon the facing direction of
the dancer who becomes the end of the Center 4 after the anything call.
After completion of & Circle 1/4,
the Outside 4 adjust as necessary to become Couples facing in.
Repeat the entire movement (including the anything call) for each 1/4
(e.g., if the fraction is 3/4, do the entire movement 3 times).
If no fraction is given, do the entire movement 4 times.
Notes:
-
Swing & Circle fraction [C1]
is the same as Swing-Slip & Circle fraction.
-
The ending formation for the Center 4 could be a Line, a Diamond
or any other applicable 4-dancer formation. For example, from a 1/4
Diamond formation (a Diamond between In-facing Couples) the
caller could call a Diamond Circulate & Circle 1/4.
-
The move up direction for the Outsides can change for each 1/4
fraction of the call. For example, from a R-H 1/4 Tag: Mix & Circle 1/2
would be a Centers Mix (ending in a
L-H Wave); Outside 6 move Counter-Clockwise one position;
Centers Mix (ending in a R-H Wave); Outside 6 move Clockwise
one position. Since this usage of & Circle fraction
is awkward to dance, callers usually only use it as an occasional gimmick.
-
Since the anything call can be done either by all 8
dancers or by just the Center 4 dancers, the caller should be
explicit as to who is to do the anything call. For
example, on a U-Turn Back & Circle 1/4
does everyone U-Turn Back or just the Center 4? Perhaps
anything & Circle fraction
should be defined as Center 4 do the anything call unless the
anything call requires interaction with the outside dancers?
