On a night coach out of Dallas headin' for the bright lights of LA
There's not too much in Dallas to make a man who's free unpack and stay
I guess I've been a lotta miles and still ain't got no where

Last week it was Houston, the week before somewhere in New Orleans
With a pretty green-eyed redhead who swore that she could fill my life with dreams
But what she had offer came as no surprise to me
