Watermelon Crawl

two columns

OPENER - MIDDLE BREAK - CLOSER    Basic - SSD Week 4

Sides face, grand square
I was drivin' through Georgia in late July
On a day hot enough to make the devil sigh
I saw a homemade sign written in red
Rhyne County Watermelon Festival ahead

Four ladies promenade inside that ol' ring
Swing your girl around and promenade I sing
We got a hundred gallons of sweet red wine
Made from the biggest watermelons on the vine

FIGURE    Plus, corner progression

Heads square thru and you roll it and go
Round the corner lady with a dosado
Swing thru and now girls fold, peel the top
Boys move up, slide thru, and touch 1/4 pop
Scoot back and then, you do that again
Swing the corner girl and promenade that ring
Help yourself to some, but obey the law
And if you drink, don't drive, do the watermelon crawl

ALTERNATE LYRICS

She said let me show you something you ain't never seen
She grabbed me by the arm and said come on let's go
Then she dipped down, spun around and dosido

She rocked back on her heels, dropped down on her knees
Crawled across the floor then she jumped back on her feet
She wiggled and she giggled, beat all you ever saw
