Pub With No Beer
(Chicago Country 127)   Jack Berg, David Cox

two columns

OPENER - MIDDLE BREAK    Basic - SSD Week 1

Circle left
It's lonesome away from your kindred and all
By the campfire at night where the wild dingos call

Allemande left your corner, come back a dosado
Four men star left one time around you go
Turn partner right, your corner allemande
Swing with your partner, promenade round the land
There's nothing so lonesome, morbid or drear
Than to stand at the bar of the pub with no beer

FIGURE    Plus, corner progression

Heads right & left thru, turn her and then
You flutter wheel and go across the ring
Sweep 1/4 more, pass thru, touch 1/4
Follow your neighbor and then you will spread
Girls trade, recycle, pass thru and trade by
Swing the corner girl, promenade by and by
The smile on his face quickly turns to a sneer
When the barman says suddenly, "the pub's got no beer"

CLOSER    Basic - SSD Week 1

Four ladies promenade once around you go
Come back give him a swing
He's thirsty you know
Join all your hands, circle left
Make sure that you think
Allemande and weave
As you look for a drink
The publican's anxious for the public to come

Swing with your partner, promenade her there son
She said, "What's matter, you're home early my dear?"
Then he broke down and told her, "The pub's got no beer"
