Box the gnat, 4 old gents (girls) promenade that square
Walk around in solitaire, swing that lady fair
Swing with that girl, do a left allemande
Come on back and you promenade that ring
I want to rest my weary head on somebody's shoulder
Don't want to grow older, all by myself

Heads go forward up and back now
Box the gnat make a right hand star, and turn it round the ring
*Gents reach back and box the flea
Make a left hand star you know, to your corner go
Right & left thru and don't be slow
Dive thru, go right & left thru, turn with that maid
Pass thru, swing the corner, promenade
I want to rest my weary head on somebody's shoulder
