Snoopy's Christmas
The Royal Guardsmen 1966
  (Chicago Country 39)   Jack Berg

two columns

OPENER    Basic - SSD Week 4

Sides face, grand square
The news had come out in the first world war
The bloody red baron was flying once more
The allied command ignored all their own men
And called on Snoopy to do it again

Circle left
Christmas bells, those Christmas bells
(Sang out across the land)

Allemande left, swing her and promenade
Asking peace of all the world, and good will to men

FIGURE (heads twice, sides twice)    Mainstream, corner progression

Heads (sides) promenade halfway you march, lead to the right
Circle up four and break make your line
Without a stop slide thru, and dosado my friend
Eight chain five across the ring you fly
*The night before Christmas, it was forty below
Swing old Snoopy and promen-o
To find the red baron seriously they fought
With ice on his wings, Snoopy knew he was lost

*The baron had Snoopy dead in his sights
Swing poor Snoopy and promenade tonight
Why he didn't shoot we will never know
Or was it the bells from the village below?

(second time: Sides face, grand square)

MIDDLE BREAK

The baron made Snoopy fly to the right
And forced him to land behind enemy lines
Snoopy was certain that this was the end
When the baron cried out "Merry Christmas, my friend!"

*The baron then offered a holiday toast
(make a popping sound with finger and cheek)

Swing old Snoopy and promenade home
With a roar they were both on their way
Each knowing they'd meet some other day
