OPENER    Basic - SSD Week 1

Circle left
There's a pretty brown eyed girl that sets my heart awhirl
Who lives along the Yukon far away

Here's where the boys star by the right
Beneath the Northern lights
Do an allemande left with the corner and weave the ring now
Ooga-Ooga Mooska, which means that I love you
If you'll be my baby, I'll Ooga-Ooga Mooska you
Then I take her hand in mine and set her on my knee
The squaws along the Yukon are good enough for me

FIGURE (1)    Basic - SSD Week 1, corner progression

Here's where the head two ladies chain, turn the girl and then
Chain her right on back across the ring now
Side two ladies chain, straight across the ring
You chain that lady right on back again
Well now all four ladies chain, 3/4 around the ring
Take her by the hand and you promenade them now
Where the Northern lights, they shine
I'll take her hand in mine
The squaws along the Yukon are good enough for me

FIGURE (2)

Well the heads square thru 4 hands around you do
When you're there split the sides around one
Down the middle and box the gnat, pass thru right after that
Around one, make a line of 4 and then, go right & left thru
Turn the girl and then, slide thru and the corner swing
Swing the corner lady and promenade that ring
Where the Northern lights, they shine
I'll take her hand in mine
The squaws along the Yukon are good enough for me

MIDDLE BREAK    Basic - SSD Week 1

Circle left
Where the Northern lights, they shine
She rubs her nose to mine
She cuddles close and I can hear her say

Here's where the boys star by the right
Beneath the Northern lights
Do an allemande left with the corner and weave the ring now
Ooga-Ooga Mooska, which means that I love you
If you'll be my baby, I'll Ooga-Ooga Mooska you
Then I take her hand in mine and set her on my knee
The squaws along the Yukon are good enough for me

FIGURE (3)    Mainstream, corner progression

Sides star thru, pass thru and circle up four
Side gents break and make two lines of 4
Move up to the middle and back, pass thru with a wheel & deal
Centers star thru, pass thru and cloverleaf you do
New centers square thru 3/4 around you do
Swing that corner, take her by the hand and you promenade
Where the Northern lights, they shine
I'll take her hand in mine
The squaws along the Yukon are good enough for me

FIGURE (#4)    Plus, corner progression

Here's where the sides square thru 4 hands around you do
Meet the corner touch 1/4 and then, scoot back
When you're back, fan the top and without a stop
Spin the top, keep moving there my friend
Swing thru and then, swing thru again
Swing that corner lady, promenade around that ring
Where the Northern lights, they shine
I'll take her hand in mine
The squaws along the Yukon are good enough for me

CLOSER    Basic - SSD Week 1

Circle left
She makes her underwear from the hides of Grizzly bear
And bathes in ice cold water every day

Here's where the boys star by the right
Beneath the Northern lights
Do an allemande left with the corner and weave the ring now
Ooga-Ooga Mooska, which means that I love you
If you'll be my baby, I'll Ooga-Ooga Mooska you
Then I take her hand in mine and set her on my knee
The squaws along the Yukon are good enough for me

TAG

When you're home, four ladies chain across and back
Carry me back to old Alaska
The squaws along the Yukon are good enough for me
