Jingle Bells
Edison Male Quartet (1898) 1857
  (MacGregor 2046)   Bruce Johnson

two columns

FIGURE    Basic, R-H lady progression

1 & 3 go forward, come back and whirlaway
1/2 square thru and split the outside two that way
Go round 1 to the middle, box the gnat and then
Make a right hand star and turn exactly once my friend
Allemande your corner, walk on by your own
Swing the right hand lady there and promenade her home
Oh promenade to the jingle bells, keeping spirits bright
What fun it is to dance and hear a sleighing song tonight

MIDDLE BREAK - CLOSER    Basic

Bunch the ladies back-to-back, men will promenade
All the way around the ring until you meet that maid
Turn her by the left all the way and a little bit more than that
Men star by the right and travel all the way around that track
Then allemande the corner, grand old right & left
Meet that gal with rosy cheeks and promenade the set
Oh jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way
Oh what fun it is to ride in a one horse open sleigh

TAG

Bow to your partner, corners too, don't forget that right hand Sue
Wave to the opposite across the hall, Merry Christmas one and all
