OPENER    Basic - SSD Week 4

Sides face grand square
When I was a lad and Ole Shep was a pup
O'er hills and meadows we roamed
Just a boy and his dog were both full of fun
We grew up together
(circle to the left)
Now I remember the time at the old swimmin' hole
Allemande left come back and promenade
Ole Shep was right there, to the rescue he came
He jumped in and helped pull me out

FIGURE (Twice for heads, twice for sides)    Basic, corner progression

Now the heads promenade, travel halfway around
Walk into the middle and square thru four hands
All the way around, a right & left thru, turn 'em on around
And veer to the left, as couples circulate one time,
Ladies trade, Bend the line, square thru 3/4 around
Swing that corner lady, promenade
If dogs have a heaven, there's one thing I know
Ole Shep has a beautiful home

MIDDLE BREAK    Basic - SSD Week 4

Sides face, grand square
The years rolled along, at last we grew old
His eyesight was fast growing dim
Then one day the doctor looked at me and said
I can't do no more
(circle to the left)
So with a hand that was trembling, I picked up my gun
Then allemande left come back and promenade
I just couldn't do it, I wanted to run
Wish they had shot me instead.

CLOSER    Basic - SSD Week 4

Sides face, grand square
I went to his side, sat down on the ground
He laid his poor head on my knee
I stroked the best pal that a man ever found
I cried so I could
(circle to the left)
Ole Shep he has gone where the good doggies go
Allemande left come back and promenade
If dogs have a heaven, there's one thing I know
Ole Shep has a beautiful
