Old Rugged Cross
Alan Jackson; many others 1912
  (Omar 25)   Donnie DeVore

two columns

OPENER - CLOSER    Basic - SSD Week 4

Sides face grand square
On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross
The emblem of suffering and shame

Circle left
And I love that old cross
Where the dearest and best

(Partner) Swing and promenade
For a world of lost sinners was slain

FIGURE    Basic, corner progression

Heads (sides) promenade go halfway around
Come down the middle and square thru 4
Go all the way and do a right & left thru
Now veer to the left and ferris wheel and go
Centers square thru 3
To the corner lady swing and promenade
And exchange it someday for a crown

MIDDLE BREAK    Basic - SSD Week 4

Sides face grand square
Oh, that old rugged cross
So despised by the world
Has a wondrous attraction for me

Circle left
For the dear lamb of God left his glory above
(Partner) Swing and promenade
To bear it to dark Calvary

TAG

And exchange it someday for a crown
