Don't Be Ashamed | (Square L 1001) Buddy Weaver |
OPENER - MIDDLE BREAK - CLOSER Basic - SSD Week 1
Four ladies promenade go round the ring
Come on back and swing your man around I sing
All join hands and circle to the left go moving round
Allemande the corner girl, weave around that ring
(oh honey*) Don't mind the grey in your hair
Just think of all the fun you had putting it there
In that old book of time, you've never skipped a page
Don't be ashamed of your age
ALTERNATE LYRICS
* no, brother
FIGURE Mainstream, corner progression
Heads square thru round you do
You meet the sides and do the right & left thru
Swing thru two-by-two, boy run right around
Half tag, scoot back and now
Boy fold, girls turn thru, back to the corner swing
Swing that corner, promenade that ring
And in that old book of time, you've never skipped a page
Don't be ashamed of your age
TAG
Don't be ashamed of your age
The Square L/Blue Star story
This piece of music was originally recorded in the early sixties using musicians from Texas lead by the famous Johnny Gimble. It was released on Square L Records special red vinyl by producer, Melton Luttrell. In 2019, the original studio tapes were digitally re-mastered by Buddy Weaver who also re-mixed and added percussion for a brand-new sound. This is a collaborative product of Square L and Blue Star.
