two columns

OPENER    Basic - SSD Week 4

Sides face grand square
He went to Paris looking for answers
To questions that bothered him so
He was impressive young and aggressive
Saving the world on his own

Allemande left and weave
Warm summer breezes and French wines and cheeses
Put his ambitions at bay
Summers and winters scattered like splinters
And four or five years slipped away

FIGURE    Plus, corner progression

Heads square thru now to 4 hand in time
Dosado the corner girl
Swing thru today, girls fold, peel the top
Boys up and then slide thru
Two hands single circle, that corner we'll swing
Swing that girl, promenade
Summers and winter scattered like splinters and four or five years slipped away
He hopped on a freighter skidded the ocean and left England without a sound

FIGURE (ALTERNATE)    Basic, corner progression

Heads square thru now to 4 hand in time
You make a right hand star
Heads star left go one time around
Same pair go right & left thru
Swing thru and then swing thru again
Swing the corner girl promenade
Summers and winter scattered like splinters and four or five years slipped away
He hopped on a freighter skidded the ocean and left England without a sound

MIDDLE BREAK    Basic - SSD Week 2

Four ladies chain across turn the girl and then
You rollaway circle left
Four ladies rollaway, circle left and hear me say
Left allemande and weave the ring
And all of the answers too all of the questions
He locked in his attic one day
'Cause he liked the quiet clean country living
And twenty more years slipped away

MIDDLE BREAK (ALTERNATE)    Basic - SSD Week 4

Sides face, grand square
The war took his baby the bombs killed his lady
And left him with only one eye
His body was battered his whole world was shattered
All he could do was just cry

Allemande left and weave
While the tears were a fallen he was recalling the answers he'd never found
So he hopped on a freighter skidded the ocean and left England without a sound

CLOSER    Basic - SSD Week 4

Sides face, grand square
Now he lives in the Islands fishes the pilings
Drinks his green label each day, loosing his hearing writing his memoirs
He don't care what most people say

Allemande left and weave
After 86 years of perpetual motion if he likes you he'll smile and say
Jimmy some of it's tragic and some of it's magic
But I've had a good life all the way
