There'll Be Some Changes Made
Ethyl Waters 1921
  (Capitol 4024)   Paul Phillips

two columns

OPENER ("A")    Basic

All join hands and circle to the left
Make that great big ring
Keep on going all the way back home again
Bow to your partner, boys
Swing that lady neat
All 8 people in the square join hands and circle to the left one complete
turn. Returning home, partners honor and swing.

Allemande left your corner, baby
Ain't she sweet?
It's a grand old right and left around
Now boys don't get rough
Swing with your honey, you'll strut your stuff
Give 'em a twirl, then promenade
A regular allemande left by giving corners left hand, walking around, then
Returning to partner for a grand right and left around the square until each
man meets his partner, swings once, twirls the girl under his left arm and
promenades to place.

Laugh and be gay
When you're home let's everybody swing and sway
There'll be some changes made

FIGURE ("B")    Basic, R-H lady progression

And now the four little ladies chain the ring
Go to that opposite gent
The four ladies make a right-hand star, move clockwise to the opposite
man. Giving him her left hand, he puts his right hand in the small of her
back and pushes her around to face the center of the square again.

Chain back and go to the guy that pays the rent
The chain motion, as explained above, is repeated until ladies are back to
Their own partners.

Turn 'em once and a half, then gentlemen center
Make a right-hand star
Opposite left and hang on tight
Back up in a star
After turning their partners an extra full time, the four men make a
right-hand star, going to the opposite lady and taking a left forearm
with her, going full around until the men are once again in a right hand
star backing up, with a lady still on their left arm, moving forward
Turn that star, break, turn those gals around

Swing with the corner gal
Men release right-hand star, wheel full around with girl who is on their left
Arm, then releasing this girl, swing the corner girl from this point. (For No
1 man, this would be his right-hand, or the No. 2 girl in the set.

Swing 'em off the ground
Give 'em a twirl, then promenade
Go 'round the ring
When you're home let's everybody take another swing
There'll be some changes made
(Repeat "B" 3 more times until all have partners back.)

CLOSER    Basic

And so you'll all join hands and circle around
Make that great big ring
Keep on going all the way back home again
Bow to your pretty little partner
Swing that lady neat
Allemande left you corner baby
Ain't she sweet?
Do that grand old right and left around
Boys, strut your stuff
Swing with your honey till she's had enough
Give 'em a twirl, promenade
Dance while you may
Some day you'll be too old grey
Why don't you swing and sway?
